In honor of his 18th yartzeit, the NCFJE invites you to join together with Jews throughout the world to write the Jacob J. Hecht Sefer Torah.JJHecht.jpg

Donate a parsha, verse or letter in this special Torah and share Rabbi Hecht's legacy of burning love for Mankind and his groundbreaking work on behalf of the survival of the Jewish People.

Our sages teach us, “In a place where there are no men, strive to be a Man!” The true mark of a man is made in the places where others have dared not go... This timeless teaching captures the essence of Rabbi J.J. Hecht, obm whose 18th yartzeit will occur on August 16th, 2008 (Tu B'Av).

Under the leadership of the Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Hecht embarked on his life’s work: to make a mark in the places where others dared not go.

From Released Time programs for public school students to Toys for Hospitalized Children; from Hadar HaTorah Yeshivah for new baalei teshuvah to the Orphan, Poor & Sick Fund; from Camp Emunah to combating cults, missionaries and drug abuse…

...family counseling, immigrant services, pidyon shvuyim, runaway youth rehabilitation—Rabbi Hecht’s legacy is literally too immense to accurately portray!

Please join us in honoring this extraordinary man.
